Come sail away with us…….

April 1 -5, 2019

For our spring adventure, the CLC Overnighters has decided to take to the seas.  Join us on a cruise to Cozumel on the Royal Caribbean “Vision of the Seas” out of Galveston for “4” nights beginning April 1-5, 2019.

You can enjoy a day on the beach, shop till you drop, try an “Out of this world” excursion, or simply stay on the ship (to make sure it doesn’t leave without us) (lol)…..it is entirely up to you.

Patty Sistrunk has been able to secure a block of rooms for us.  She has the information on the various types of rooms and their cost.  So if you are interested, please contact Patty at 225.571.4197 or email rpsistrunk@comcast.net, she can help you select a room and excursions.

Recent Past Events

Harvest Festival Bryan, TX  August 8. 9. and 10, 2018

The first stop on our adventure will be Washington on the Brazos, where Texans declared their independence and adopted the State Constitution, before we head to our B&B at La Villa on the grounds of the Messina Hof Winery.  The rooms are beautiful but will only accommodate 2 persons per room.  Room rates are approximately $165.00 per night, plus tax.  This includes complimentary Champagne Breakfast, a Wine and Cheese Reception and a tour of the facilities, followed by a special wine tasting.  A $50.00 deposit will be required and may be non-refundable if you do not go on the trip.

Thursday morning, we head to Round Top for a docent guided tour of Festival Hill at 10 AM (cost $8.00).  Festival Hill is an amazing place, where students from all over the world come to perfect their musical talents, after lunch, a little shopping, wineries, or whatever we find that looks interesting. On our way home on Friday, a quick stop at the Chappell Hill Lavender Farm.

Spicewood, TX  May 2, 3, and 4

San Antonio River Walk  Dec. 1, 2 and 3

We will carpool from Huffman, approximate travel time 3 ½ hours.

The San Antonio River Walk is a network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River, one story below the streets of San Antonio.  We will be staying right on the River Walk, so just imagine an evening stroll or maybe a cruise to enjoy the impressive festival of lights during Christmas.  San Antonio offers numerous museums, art and cultural centers, shopping, Pearl Brewery and do not forget the Alamo.  They offer several “Hop-On Hop-Off” tour packages to explore the city on a double decker bus.  Cost of lodging is approximately 123.00 – 164.00 for two nights, depending on room occupancy, plus a portion of the parking fee of 21.00 per night.

Mardi Gras Zestival  February 3, 2018

This might be a good Spousal Event. We can carpool from Huffman or drive on your own, approximate travel time 1 ½ – 2 hours.

We will be viewing the parades and throwing beads to the crowd below from the balcony of the Jockusch Building as the guest of the Z Crewe of Galveston. The party price includes a full open bar, dancing, heavy appetizers, light lunch, dinner, snacks, water and soft drinks. You can throw your own beads or buy them at the party. Party hours are 12 noon through 12 midnight. You can come and go as we wish to explore the Strand.

Tickets are $127.59, including tax each person and include entry to the Strand area. If we can get a group of 10 or more, we get a 15% discount on tickets, $108.60, including tax per person.
