Spouse Socials

If the goal is to socially connect the adults of the Commons, how do we get our spouses involved? ………through evening/weekend activities!!

Several of our Precinct Two bus trips have been opened to include spouses and there are specific spouse events planned on a regular basis.

Check the Calendar for upcoming events.

The 2015 St Patrick’s Party at Pat & Rick Morlen’s

May you always have     Walls for the winds,     A roof for the rain,      Tea beside the fire,

Laughter to cheer you,    Those you love near you,      And all your heart might desire!

On Saturday March 14 the Commons Ladies Club celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day at the home of Rick and Pat Morlen.  About thirty people attended. They were greeted by a jolly Leprechaun who gifted them with green beads while traditional Irish music right from Ireland played via the Internet over the stereo. Before the traditional Irish mutton stew and soda bread was served a toast of Irish Mead straight from Bunratty Castel in County Clare Ireland was given.

Along with the stew and soda bread we had many other delicious edibles and a truly delicious Irish Coffee Cake but you had to be careful with that as it had a wee bit of whiskey in it if you know what I mean.

Everyone who attended had a great time eating and mingling with one another. It is always fun to get together with the spouses; it really helps to build community. I look forward to hosting this event next year. I love sharing my heritage and my home with my friends.

The 2015 Bonfire at Faye & Ray Normand’s

Amid the fine mist of frequent rain the bonfire was still a fun event.  Many came early enough to walk through the back yard gardens and admire the variety of camellias and other plants.  At dusk the bonfire was lit and the sparks flew high into the sky.  It took courage to roast hot dogs over the intense heat – but when covered with chili and cheese were yum.

The 2015 Valentine’s Progressive Dinner

What a fun evening we had! Of course, as usual, every hostess offered abundant delicious food and before the dessert course we were all so stuffed we could barely walk.   Thank you to Maria Bianco for successfully arranging the schedule. We hope she will consider organizing this again next year.
